Leica Geosystems updates its machine control, adds machine integrations and extends cloud-based workflows
Information from Leica Geosystems
Leica Geosystems has updated its iCon machine control software for its Site software, added new machine integrations and extended its ConX cloud-based workflows.
Leica Ready machine control kits will now be offered on crawler dozers by John Deere, excavators by JCB, and on Hidromek motor graders. The company is also collaborating with Liebherr to integrate 2D and 3D machine control solutions for its excavators. The company also released semi-automated excavator functionality for the iCon iXE3 3D excavator machine control solution, including tilt and tilt rotator bucket automation which enables operators to execute complex tasks and reduce manual controls.
Leica Geosystems machine control is powered by Leica iCon software portfolio, which connects different tasks, machines and teams on construction sites. In this portfolio, the company updated the iCon Site software, which offers customised positioning solutions for road construction and civil engineering projects. The updated version will be released on 15 April 2020 and includes new functionality and improved workflows and graphics, including the integration and connectivity from the office, machine and field.
The iCon Site upgrade offers grouping within code lists, height benching for tool point within the Surface Pilot application, and full support of all data formats for the data merger function within Draw application. The Tab&Hold map functionality for points retrieves point information, link or unlink images and edit stored data within all applications. Multiple points can now be deleted from the map view and point lists within all applications. Other functionalities include the ability to import files from Leica ConX directly to the correct data type within iCon Site; support of generic external radios for iCG70 GNSS rover; persistency of active reference line when switching between projects; and persistent backup functionality to available USB or SD devices for CC80 or CC70 field controllers.
Leica Geosystems has also extended its Leica ConX cloud-based collaboration tool with the addition of Leica Captivate surveying field software, and functionality for drill rig, pile driver, dozer and motor grader solutions. This enables the exchange and flow of field, office, machine and surveying data, while the drill rig and pile driver interface allows real-time visualisation of updates on completion of drill holes or piles in the office.
