SkyWatch and Picterra partner to automate satellite monitoring and change detection
Information from Picterra
Satellite imagery has become a powerful tool for research, discovery, and analysis., but the complexity and costs associated prevented the wide adoption of these datasets in the past. To aid access to satellite data and machine learning, SkyWatch and Picterra have announced their partnership and a new joint program to make geospatial insights available to all.
SkyWatch is building the infrastructure for the automated distribution of Earth observation data. Its EarthCache product is a single access point to various observation datasets, which Skywatch aggregates and normalises from its network of data partners. The product provides developers with the tools they need to add Earth observation data into their applications and workflows.
Picterra is a machine learning/artificial intelligence software-as-a-service platform, enabling businesses to autonomously extract intelligence and analytics from satellite, aerial, and drone imagery. It offers a ready-to-use IT infrastructure that makes it possible to process terabytes of imagery.
With this partnership, Picterra’s customers can now automatically monitor their areas of interest for change by combining EarthCache’s automated tasking requests with Picterra’s automated detection algorithms. This integration allows users with a way to access satellite imagery and the ability to generate new insights.
