YellowScan integrates Livox Horizon lidar into its Mapper UAV solution

YellowScan has updated its Mapper lidar scanner by integrating DJI’s Livox Horizon laser scanner into a solution. The pricing and performance of the scanner allows the company to offer an integrated solution with customer support, at a price affordable to a larger base of professional users.
Unlike other YellowScan solutions, the Mapper is a purely aerial lidar solution. It is designed to fit all DJI professional drones (M200, M210, M300, M600) and comes with an integrated camera module to colourise laser scans. The turnkey solution is fully autonomous, and can be mounted on any UAV (not only DJI UAVs).
The scanner weighs 1.4 kg, and offers 3 cm accuracy and 2 cm precision. With a great point density, this lidar sensor allows the Mapper system to fly at 70m AGL with a 120m swath. The company recommends a a 10 m/s flight speed to benefit from the system’s point density while maintaining good productivity. For example, flying at 70m AGL, 10 m/s, users will be able to map 10 ha in three minutes.
The lidar solution is intended for general topography projects and is well suited for archaeology, forestry and post-disaster missions. It seamlessly integrates with the company’s software solutions, LiveStation and CloudStation, for remotely checking data while the system is flying, and post-processing, visualisation and survey data exporting.
