Mapping competition invites entries that focus on the impact of land use on local communities

The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) and Esri have announced the 2020 Map Competition on the impact of land use on local communities. These impacts can be in relation to agriculture, ecosystems, water resources, weather and climate, hazards, invasive species, marine and coastal live, conservation, biodiversity.

Interested parties are invited to submit an original web map that addresses any of the challenges or unique visualises existing data about the impacts of land use on local communities. The submission deadline is 8 January 2021, with the winner to be announced in February 2021.

The winning entry will receive a one-year subscription to ArcGIS Pro Professional and a 2020 RCMRD Web Map of the Year certificate. All submissions will be showcased on Africa GeoPortal.
