senseFly launches eBee Geo mapping drone, e-Learning platform and operator certification program
Information from senseFly
Fixed-wing drone manufacturer senseFly expanded its eBee X drone solution with the launch of the eBee Geo, aimed at surveyors and GIS professionals. With a maximum 45-minute flight time, the drone can cover 160 ha at 400 ft, making it useful for smaller surveying firms and project-based drone service providers.
The drone is equipped with a S.O.D.A. RGB camera, which paired with real-time kinematic (RTK) function can achieve an absolute accuracy up to 2.5 cm. This makes it useful for applications ranging from construction to urban planning and land management.
eBee Geo customers will also have access to senseFly’s eMotion flight planning software, technical support and resource offerings, including its in-house team of experts, global distribution network and its recently launched Academy e-learning training platform and certified operator program.
The e-learning platform (a self-paced training program) equips drone operators in surveying, GIS, agriculture and construction with the skills required to carry out drone missions, and offers insights into managing project workflows and in-field and in-flight troubleshooting. The 10-hour online course features six modules, along with one hour with an instructor, and 40 online exam questions. The Certified senseFly Operator Program lets operators demonstrate their understanding of drone technology and processes, which could support them in their tender and insurance applications.
