Avenza releases Geographic Imager 6.3 for Adobe Photoshop and starts video series

Information from Avenza Systems

Avenza Systems has released Geographic Imager 6.3 for Adobe Photoshop. The plugin enhances Adobe Photoshop with the ability to import, edit, and export geospatial images such as aerial and satellite imagery, while maintaining georeferencing and support for coordinate systems and projections. This gives users access to native Adobe Photoshop functions like transparencies, filters, pixel editing, and image adjustments like brightness, contrast, and curve controls.

This latest version provides full compatibility with macOS 11 Big Sur, and introduces a new cloud licensing system to access and manage floating licenses across an organisation without the need to set-up, deploy and manage a local server.

All active maintenance subscribers can upgrade for free. Users without an active maintenance subscription or on a previous Geographic Imager version can still upgrade.

The company has also started a new video series, Mapping Class, which will curate tutorials and workflows created by cartographers and Avenza software users. The first workflow features Steve Spindler, a user of Avenza’s Adobe Illustrator plugin, MAPublisher, who demonstrates how to create orthographic locator maps by applying design tricks and utilising the plugin’s projection tools.
