Drone Safety Legal (DSL) has partnered with the University of Pretoria Enterprises to present the “Introduction to drones for precision agriculture” as one of three blended learning short courses in the “Redefining the role of drone technology in the future of study and work” programme. (The other two courses are on drones for mining and drone inspections for civil engineering.)
This industry-specific short course is focused on the application of drone technology in precision agriculture. Practical training of DSL will be combined with theoretical training by the University of Pretoria to apply drones and image processing to produce information that enhances profitability and sustainability in agriculture.
This course covers:
By the end of the course delegates should have an understanding of precision agriculture, and be able to apply drones and drone imagery to determine plant health (phenotyping), for advanced crop management and decision-making, and for early detection and management of pests and diseases. They should be able to use ground truthing to validate and improve information collected by drones.
The course is accredited for 5 CPD points (ECSA and SACNASP). There are two course options: Standard course (R18 687.50 including VAT) or course with Remote Pilot License (RPL) included (R46 000.00 including VAT)
