The South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) is a statutory body for geomatics professionals working in South Africa.

The South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) is a statutory body for geomatics professionals working in South Africa. These professionals include land surveyors, engineering surveyors, photogrammetric surveyors, mining surveyors, GIS practitioners, and hydrographic surveyors. All qualified Professional Surveyors, Technologist Surveyors, Technician Surveyors and GISc Practitioners have to be registered with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC), and those in training may also register. The council is also responsible for administrating Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Implemented on the 1 June 2012. SAGC was previously known as South African Council for Professional and Technical Surveyors (PLATO).
